Trying Something new

So 7 days ago I decided I was going to give up drinking carbonated beverages. It had as been 7 days, and not even 1 diet drink...How awesome is that? When we go out to eat I have been filling my glass with 3/4 unsweet tea, and 1/4 sweet tea.
For those of you who do not know Mississippi is proud of their sweet tea, and should be delicious. (You know Brian Lewis is from MS...hence his great sweet tea, well that and he is very sweet himself!)

At home I have been having 1 small (kids cup) of milk, and have weened myself off of the oreo dunking in the milk which started the milk cup trend.

I have also beeen enjoying fruit juices like diet ot light cran-grape (my favorite) apple, and cran-pomegranite (kind of tart). These juices still have some sugar in them but I have tried to be good with buying diet/light versions.

Well I need to go finish making lasagna, and packing the girls bags for their next few weeks in TX.

Oh funny kid story.... Sunday in the car coming home from TX. we stopped and Honey said what do you want to drink and I told hime unsweet tea, b/c I was still trying the no carbonated drink thing, and EM says "Why? Diet coke doesn't have any carbs in it!" get it...? carbs..carbohydrates...carbonated...Honey & I have tried the low carb thing several times, and it was funny to me explaining that carbs were carbohydrtaes, and not carbonated sodas. Doesn't sound funny now that I write it..I guess you had to be there!

Mission Organization

I love this show on HGTV called Mission Organization. Our apt. lease is up the end of July, and we will hopefully be moving. We are not crazy about the schools, and have had some trouble with some teachers the past 18 months. There are 2 districts with much better ratings at greatschools.net. If you are intrested in schools anywhere in the country this is a great site!

Anyway the girls are home this week, and we will not all be under the same roof again until mid-July and then we will only have 2 weeks before we move, so we are getting ready. Yesterday the coat closet, and the hall closet both "catch alls" got a closet lift. Then both girls rooms...well lets just say we were busy girls! Today, their closets... I think the philosophy here was what mom can't see she won't know about...(they put away their own laundry)

Then I will start on my closet. I've already gone through our clothes, and have a big trash bag that I'm not sure what to do with, since I do not want to move them and really, really, really don't like to garage sale. I would have to move it all(b/c of being in an apt complex) and then have a garage sale, and the point here is not to move it! So all I really need to do is go through the shelf stuff. You know misc that I'm not sure where to put, or what to do with it but want/need to keep.

We already have 4 large plastic bags, and 3 kitchen trash bags (1 with just gift bags and tissue!) to throw away. We even have 2 plastic bags with school suppllies that we can recycle for next year!

Then tomorrow all I will have left to organize is the pantry, and I guess I can start boxing up things not used in the kitchen, and then under the sinks..mine & Honey's, the girls, and kitchen...whew that will be a job!

Well I better get some coffee & get started!

Father's Day 2008 Weekend recap

Home from Texas, and our girls are home with us for the week! We missed them so much we were glad MIL had some scheduling issues and that we get them this week. The girls are enjoying the wii fit balance board today, and we had lunch with dad. That was a treat!
We had a fun weekend...with our dad's. We took Honey's grandpa out to lunch Saturday, and went to church with my dad Sun, and lunch with him afterwards, and then on the way home stopped at Honey's dad's for some swimming before we headed home.
We we to some friends for a Karaoke party Saturday night, and I posted a new slide show if you would like to see pics of that. (on my side bar there is a link to all my slide shows so far)
Here are a few to entice you to take a look at the slide show....My wonderful girlfriends!Karaoke with Me, Michelle, MacKenzi, Em, and Taryn

We told our father's with words and gifts how much we love & appreciate them! Just like mother's day though..we should do this every chance we get not just on the designated day. How precious life is, and I should do better at the daily affirmations...
I hope all is well with all of you! I will try to write more soon, but we have several errands to run thi sweek before our family & friend summer vacation next week!
Please keep a couple in Missouri in your prayers. They are in an adoption match with a young couple, and baby boy was born Saturday, and mom wants to place baby , and dad is unsure! Please lift all of these up in prayer. Thank you.

Here are soime pics of us with the dad's God has blessed us with.

Blog Block

Well I have been up to a whole lot of nothing. That is why I have not written, and when there is absolutely nothing going on I have found myself in the midst of some major blog block.
My kids are in TX, I lay around and watch TV, and movies most of the day. Last week VH1 had the bachelor marathon everyday. There was a different bachelor season everyday...you know how I couldn't pass that up. Then when honey got home I was ready to go do something and he was tired from his long work day. It kind of reminds me of that 80's song "Friday Night Blues". "He's kicking he's shoes off she's putting hers on..." Then this weekend the apartments had a pool party, and I got sunburned. Now its Tuesday and I just went to the movie rental store and got The bucket list, Jumper, and the other boleyn girl. I read the book when it first came out, and have not seen the movie yet so that will be my afternoon, and evening since they are due tomorrow.
See how boring....We will be headed to TX for the next 5 weekends so maybe I'll have more to tell you about when I actually see someone other than my hubby.
