Nursing school 12 days and counting

Well today was the beginning of round 2 of Nursing school orientation. You can read more about that here.

Other than that we have just been hanging out, reading and getting ready for school. KT and I will travel to TX this weekend to pick up EM from camp, and then head back home Sunday. Homey will be stuck here at home working...awww too bad.
Then just one week of daytime quiet to read my chapters in Fundementals of Nursing textbook until I start school.
I'll write again soon.

I miss you still

Three years ago my friend Kevin died. I miss him very much even now. Still 3 years later we do not have a convencing reason for his death. Suicide, I believe that knowing him the way we did that he would not have done this. Murder, this is more likely but there is not enough evidence. The case is still open , and I hope one day someone will come forward with some information but in the long run it doesn't really matter, he's still gone. Kevin's death has changed my life. There are so many things that losing him at 29 I now think about; my words to people, these could be the last words they hear from me, how do I want to be remembered? My decision to go back to school so that I am able to support myself if something were to happen to my husband, don't take the life God has given you for granted live every day. Love the people in your life- I am blessed to have many friends some read this blog, and were there for me during my grief Thank you, and I love ya'll!
His smile, his deep smooth voice, his crazy tatoos, his laughter, the way he hated it when you touched him with your feet (funny how I now really don't like it when people touch me with their feet) his son Ever, his widow Andrea, his daughter Kelsey, they way EM would call him her second Dad, his nickname for KT "pizza queen" from a memorable 4th of July, his willingness to drop everything to help me get my keys out of my car when I locked them inside, and his precious friendship with my husband (2 peas in a pod). My life was definitely better for having known him, and loved him, and I am truly blessed to have been able to call him friend. There are so many more things that I remember that make me smile, but the most precious memories I hold dear are my last moments with Kevin as we were leaving his house he hugged me as he always did, and said "I love you sweetheart".
I'll never forget you Kev-o I love you too!

School starting already?

Here in Mississippi the kids start school this Thursday Aug 7th! Crazy huh?
So I spent the day getting the kids registered for school. KT will be in the 8th grade, and EM will be in the 4th grade. I had to sign a new lease and take the schools copies of that plus 2 electric/water bills, and fill out paperwork. Then I re-enrolled EM in her gymnastics class. The good news is with my nursing school schedule I will not be able to pick her up from school and the gymnastics place has child care too! SO they will pick her up from school on Tuesdays and she will have her class at 3:30 which gives me enough time to pick up KT, and then pick her up when her class is over.
We will be headed to TX this weekend . Em has camp next weekend Fri & Sat 8/8 & 8/9.
KT's BFF is having her bday party so she will be with them all weekend, and I'm going to take my mom to see Mama Mia for her bday!
Then when we get home I will gear up for orientation next Tues- Thurs. and KT will gear up for School on Thurs. EM will miss the first 2 days of school...oh well!
Check back with ya next week!

Movie Monday night

So we took the kids to seeJourney to the center of the earth

and my favorite line was:
"Haven't you seen a dinosaur before? Not with skin on it!"

LOL

Anyway good family adventure.
I think we are going to try and find it at the library and read it out loud on our road trips the next few weekends.
